friends

Keeping this updated is harder than i thought. I have been busy lately with school and work as usual. Gareth just got back from a LONG week in Texas and I am SO happy to have him home for the next two weeks. I cant wait for Thanksgiving! We will be doing two thanksgivings as usual.

Our friends the Butler's came to visit and that was so much fun to see them. It was Chad's birthday party but he managed to peace out on the group shot, so oh well. :) We had a blast hanging out with our buds. Gareth wasn't there in person but at heart he was :)

I love these girls! PS. Alli's missing, she had a sleepy baby to take home...

Anyways thats all for now, i have a big day of studying all day tomorrow for a big test on monday, oh joy! Work is going great at the OB...I love it! All of the babies are just adorable and everyone is so nice to work with. My last day at Buckle was today, thats where i was working before. But i'm okay with no more retail, it was fun while it lasted. Well, off to bed, till next time~

New Job!

Well I am going to be working in the OB now...I am super excited to be given this opportunity, I am going to enjoy my job so much. I wont have to work at Buckle any longer, which is bitter sweet, I will miss my employee discount...but its time to move on. :) I'm going to be a Nurses assistant II because I am in my last year of nursing school. Speaking of school, its going great and it couldn't be going by any faster. I am done with my acute care time for this semester's clinical, which means I dont have to go to the hospital any more. I will be in the gerontology/community health section of our clinical time. So I will be enjoying a lighter load for the rest of the semester, which is always nice! Gareth is getting ready to head off to Texas for another week. He leaves tomorrow morning... :( We have been spending so much time together lately because he goes to texas so often...we like our bike rides in the park! I'm gonna miss him.

New Opportunites

So i have exciting news to share. I have an interview tomorrow at the OB department at Enloe Hospital. I am interviewing for a Nurses Assistant position. But if i get the job its a good foot in the door to that department which is kind of hard to get into. I would love to work in the OB so i am really excited about it. :) School is flying by so fast this year. I cant believe that this semester is half done already! Gareth is in chico at the time and is enjoying his time home from texas. He is still trying for a buck since its deer season, but we will have to wait and see... MY prayers have shifted from not getting a deer because I didn't want him to kill one to praying for him to get one so he wouldn't have to keep going away to go hunting. So our fingers are crossed. He's going again this wednesday. I will update everyone as soon as I hear about the job. For now,
God Bless,
Jackie

New haircut!

Lets just say fall is the season of shorter hair. I cut my hair two weeks ago and it is so much nicer than having long hair. Today my friends Cassidy and Jaime cut their hair really short so it is becoming a fall trend! Its also just fun to change it up a bit.

sick taly and new computer

Well, i have been keeping a "sick tally" this year just to track how many times Gareth and I come down with something. So far Gareth has been sick twice, and I had not been sick at all....Well I knew my time was coming and here it is! :( I am sick. I have the worst sore throat i think I have ever had. No s/s of strep, just a bad cold. I guess I can say that Gareth and I have pretty good immune systems though since we only get sick once or twice a year. :) I'm not looking forward to the "snot face" part of having a cold though...especially since i have clinicals that i can only miss one day MAX. I am going to have to take some drugs and hope for the best. I am hoping and praying that my cold is gone in a day because i have two days of clinical, wed and thurs, and i don't know what i am going to do if i can only miss one. I guess i will just tough it out tomorrow and see how it goes.
On a more exciting note we finally broke down and got a new computer! YAAAYYY we have been using an old busted up laptop that we bought as a "Hand-me-down" from a friend when our other computer crashed a while back. So can i just say that Dell.com is amazing! You can build your own computer and it is so CHEAP. We are getting the nicest computer ever and all for a great price. I guess i haven't been keeping up with how technology has gone down in price lately. No complaints here though. So our new computer will be arriving in the mail today or tomorrow and I feel like a little kid at Christmas who is just waiting to tear open the gifts when they arrive.
Somehow i keep writing really long blogs so i will try to stop my novel now, till next time,
yours truly!

school, work, and life in chico!

Its been a while since i have put anything up. Since school started in late August i have been swamped with homework and the never-ending "to-do" list...not to mention we are back in chico and now we have a social life again. Its so nice to be able to call our friends and see them 5 minutes later. You forget how much appreciate being close to those you love until you move really far away. But life is so great right now for the Munoz's. I have contemplated starting a count down until graduation because i am just so excited. But i realized its still 8 months so i will wait a bit longer to do the day to day count down. Still though, 8 months, thats less time than it takes to grow a baby...so i will be a nurse in less time than it takes to grow a baby! YAY! But don't think that we are going to be growing any babies soon. We aren't ready for that chapter yet. Gareth has been trucking along with work in Houston, Texas. He flies out for a week at a time every other week and works long hard days for 7 days in a row. Then he comes home to spend time with me and do side jobs here in Chico. Gareth has really been enjoying being back in town as well...all i can say is, i have to fight for my time with him with his friends. He has all these friends that want to go shooting or hunting or ride dirt bikes....etc ALL THE TIME. I am beginning to wonder if these guys ever do anything else. j/k But he has fun with it and i am glad. Plus i think he is just doing a little catch up from our year in the mountains. Another thing that we are very excited about now that we're back is Church! We are able to go to the "nine" service at neighborhood church and we absolutely love the the worship and messages...God is just so great! Our house is completely unpacked and all the pictures are hung on the wall....AHHH finally done! Well we have been done for 2 weeks but it still feels good to have settled in and established ourselves here again. I am working part-time at Buckle again and am enjoying the old "buckle" scene. It sure is tempting to work in a clothes store...you really have to practice self control to not indulge you entire pay check! Between work, school and our life in chico with friends we keep a full schedule going. Pretty soon it will be Christmas and i cant wait for the joy that the holidays bring. For now we will keep on keepin' on. And i will try to keep this updated on a regular basis! God Bless!

Losing my bloging virginity...

Well you heard me...it's time though. Everyone else is doing it and i just felt so much peer pressure that i couldn't hold back any longer. Plus i don't want to be a loser...jk
Gareth is a part of this blog but most all of the blogs will be posted by me (Jackie), for a couple of reasons...i love him to death but he cant spell at ALL, and he isn't really into computers. But hopefully this will be a good way to keep all of our friends and family updated on our lives.

Our first bit of news is that we are moving back to Chico on the 20th of August. This is an exciting move for me because it means i wont have to drive 3 hours a day to and from school four days a week. We came to this decision to move when Gareth was spending so much time in Houston, Texas for work that it didn't make sense to stay in Grass Valley when our friends and school was in Chico. I have put my two weeks in at my summer job at a local plant nursery and i am packing up our stuff, while Gareth makes a trip out to Texas to get some work in before he takes a couple weeks off to unpack and settle in Chico. As I have been packing things for the last couple of days i have realized how much "stuff" we have. I really don't know where it all came from but somehow we ended up with SO much more than we need. I will be taking a couple of big loads to the salvation army soon. Well i guess that is all for now, i will hopefully keep up on checking this blog, and posting new ones as stuff happens. Thanks for reading!
